2013 Summer Baseball Program

  • 6 Week Program runs July 27 - September14

  • 8 Game Schedule with Inaugural Summer Champions Tournament

  • Jerseys with numbers and baseball cap provided

  • Games will be played at Claremont Park and Rodeo Fields in Salinas

  • 40/60 machine to kid pitch Minor division: $65 Registration

  • 46/60 Player Pitch Major division: $70 Registration

  • Registration Includes two clinics, Hitting Clinic on July 13th and Baseball Clinic on July 20th at Claremont Park, Salinas

  • Summer Season Opens July 27th at Claremont Park, Salinas

  • Final date to register will be Saturday, July 19th in person and online

Player’s age on April 30, 2014 determines eligibility and playing age

Summer League Divisions

‘46/60’ Minor Division (Ages 9 / 10)

  • 6 run rule per inning (once the 6th run scores, that ½ inning is completed)

  • 2 Innings max per pitcher (1 pitch to a batter constitutes an inning)

  • Pinch runner allowed for catcher (last recorded out)

  • Base stealing and stealing home allowed

  • No leading off

  • 2 Hour time limit on weekday games (no new inning after the time limit has expired)

  • 1 hour / 45 minute time limit on Saturday games (no new inning may start after time limit has expired)

’40/60’ Rookie Division (Ages 7 / 8)

First 4 games of the season will be played as Machine pitch and will convert to kid pitch the remainder of the summer season. (Tournament will be played as Kid Pitch)

  • 4 run rule per inning (once the 4th run scores, that ½ inning is completed)

  • 2 Innings max per pitcher

  • Pinch runner allowed for catcher (last recorded out)

  • No leading off

  • Stealing of home NOT allowed

  • 2 Hour time limit on weekday games (no new inning after the time limit has expired)

  • 1 hour / 45 minute time limit on Saturday games (no new inning may start after time limit has expired)

Additional Rules & Information

  • Entire roster bats

  • No player can sit more than 2 innings

  • Both teams are responsible for field prep before and after games

  • Field drags must be kept at least 2 feet away from any grass line

  • On weekdays, water down the infield grass at the conclusion of the game

  • Pick up all trash in each dugout and bleacher areas

  • No metal cleats allowed in any divisions

  • Big barrel bats allowed in all divisions

  • Game balls provided

  • 1 game per week and one double header weekend per team in schedule.

  • Umpire provided

  • There are no league boundaries. All players are welcome.

  • Team equipment (catcher gear, helmets, etc.) available on request

  • Scorebooks issued to each team

2013 Summer Baseball Clinics

  • 2 Week Program

  • July 13 & 20 - 9AM-1PM

  • FREE to all Summer League Registrants

  • $30 for all Non Summer League Registrants

July 13 - Day One - Hitting


The 4 hour day focuses on getting in rhythm and on plane. We will share insider tricks and tips as you work through stations passed down from major League coaches and players. Work with local coaches on bettering your swing and path to the ball.

July 20 - Day Two - The Diamond Crash Course 

The second of the two-week clinic has an emphasis on improving your all-around game on the field. Instructors will work with you on fielding, throwing, base running and of course hitting. This 4 hour day will fly by and you'll be ready to take on your summer on the diamond.

REFUND POLICY: No refunds unless program is canceled, participant moves out of state, or serious injury prevents participation, prior to start-up date. WAIVER: I (parent/guardian) understand that in taking part in this program/activity, there is a risk of injury, that participant/my child is assuming the risk of such injury by participating; and my child will not be covered by any program insurance and agree to hold harmless the team, program, coach, instructor, CCYB, Rodeo Association or City of Salinas Parks for injuries received while participating in the above-noted program. PARENT/PARTICIPANT ACKNOWLEDGES AND AGREES TO THE FOLLOWING: 1. To respect the team’s coach and abide by his/her decisions for the team. To not coach the game from the sidelines nor subvert his/her authority in any way, and direct all issues or complaints to the age group commissioner or program chairman. 2. To strictly adhere to the CCYB Code of Conduct and all rules governing use of government facilities. Refrain from offensive comments to players, coaches, or officials. Spectators exhibiting disruptive behavior, or violating the Code of Conduct or rules will be required to leave the grounds immediately! 3. To permit the use if participant’s likeness (e.g. photos) and/or name in advertisements, press release and literature and/ or posted on the website for the above program. 4. To return all rented or borrowed equipment when notified to do so, the failure of which will result in forfeiture of participation in future CCYB programs. 5. Give consent for an authorized CCYB representative to take my child/children for care, medical or dental, in an emergency situation where the child’s condition represents a serious or imminent to his/her life, health or well-being. I understand that conscious effort will be made to notify me prior to such action and the expense, if any, will be borne by me.
